CHED Compliance
Establishing Compliance with CHED Standards on Institutional Research
The Commission on Higher Education takes seriously its appraisal of Institutional Research as it is a function that is of far reaching impact to both education and community extension. As such, the CHED is generous in giving incentives and exemption to institutions that have mature research departments and agendas.
Under Dr. Reyes’ developmental management of Lyceum-Northwestern University’s research department, the CHED on many occasion has not only viewed the RDMO as one that simply meets its standards and expectations but more so views it as a role model for HEI’s that are yet developing their research capabilities.
For reason of this recognition, Lyceum-Northwestern University has been granted the honor of being invited as the only HEI from Region 1 to present a paper in the International Conference on Research in Higher Education Institutions held at Cebu. It was the role of Dr. Reyes in the said conference to present and share how Lyceum-Northwestern University’s experience in developmental research management many be replicated in other HEIs.
It is no longer uncommon to hear Lyceum-Northwestern University’s RDMO management system cited during colloquiums by the CHED whenever discussion hinges on the developmental research management.
Direct benefits gained by the university on account of the RDMO include the following:
1. Special CHED recognition of the strong research capability of the institution as quasi equivalent of level 3 accreditation thus crucially contributing in the approval of University Status, Deregulated Status and approval to offer a number of Graduate School programs;
2. Access and award of research grants; and
3. Achievement of institutional impact to the community which provided much needed points to the institution relevant to various accreditation proceedings.
4. Receiving Awards and Recognitions:
