Property

The school is located in a suitable area free from noise and pollution. It spreads on a 7-hectare property.

There are 7 buildings in the main campus namely: Administration Building, Duque Building, Florencia Buidling, Francisco Building, Muti-Capability Building, Engineering Building and Technical Education Skills Development (TESD) Center.

All are made of permanent structures. The polyclinic campus at the city proper houses the Graduate school and the General High school.

Laboratory Resources

Internet Laboratories. There are two (2) Internet laboratories, one with 45 workstations and the other with 30 workstations. It is open Monday to Fridays from 8:00 am-5:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm, giving a total of 3,825 hours running time per week.

Speech laboratory. A 40-seater speech laboratory, console type with individual head sets and microphones is available for speech improvement. It is located at the 3rd floor of the Florencia Building. A custodian is assigned to take charge of the proper scheduling of classes and to supervise its upkeep.

Mass Comm Laboratory is equipped with computer units and other AV equipment for radio and broadcast as well as print media.

The MassCom students can avail of its use even outside their class schedule especially in coming up with their projects such as documentary film, dramatic presentation, etc.

Virtual Laboratory. The health-related programs and Maritime Education have virtual laboratories with simulated operations being shown on screen for better understanding of processes.

Simulated Hospital. The College of Nursing laboratory has a simulated hospital for proper orientation and hands-on preparation of the students before the actual hospital exposure.

Simulated Laboratory. The Maritime Education programs have a simulated laboratory for proper orientation and hands-on preparation before the actual shipboard training.

Laboratory Schools. The College of Education has the Creative Montessori Center as laboratory elementary school for the BEEd students; and, the FQDMSSHS and the General High School at the Polyclinic Campus as the laboratory High Schools for the BSEd students.

College of Engineering Laboratories. The Engineering laboratories are equipped with the engineering machines and equipment needed for each specific engineering field. The AUTOCAD software has been installed for the use of the Engineering and Architecture students. To augment their training the University has forged a MOA with several firms in the locality for actual industry exposure of the students.

Field Trips to industries in Manila and in Laguna are likewise resorted to in order to expose the students to the actual industry scenario.

Psychology Laboratory. The Psychology laboratory has facilities needed by the psychology students in their experimental researches/studies. Some of the gadgets are as follows: Vertical Mirror used for the Bilateral Transfer of Learning; Receptor Wooden Screen Board used to measure Reaction Time; Different weighing scales used for Psychophysics Experiments and Punchboard Maze used to study Short-Term Memory. The Psychology students also use the said laboratory as a venue for training rats as a major requirement in their Behavior Modification subject.

Medical Laboratories. The College of Optometry, College of Dentistry, College of Physical therapy, College of Medical Technology and the College of Radiologic Technology have specialized laboratories equipped with all the necessary equipments and facilities needed in their actual study.

Tourism Laboratories. The College of Tourism and HRM has a mini-hostel and the President’s Hotel as their in-house laboratory to provide them with actual hands-on experience aside from the specialized laboratories in the various courses like commercial cooking, baking, and bartending. In addition to the international OJT linkages in Singapore and the United States, there is a Memorandum of Agreement with Super Ferry to provide shipboard training, together with Aboex Travel and Tours.

Computer Laboratories. There are six (6) computer laboratory rooms, with an average of 30 units per laboratory. All computer units have Internet access, such that, students in the Computer and Engineering departments can avail of the Internet access in these laboratories outside of class schedules.

Criminology Laboratory. The Criminology laboratory is fully equipped with guns and ammunitions, and polygraph machine. It also has a dark room for forensic photography.

Audio-Visual Rooms. The University has two (2) Audio Visual Rooms, one has a 200 seating capacity while the other has 100 seating capacity. There are two (2) multipurpose halls for assemblies, each with 250 seating capacity and the Learning Resource Center, which can also be used for AV presentations and small group forum or symposium.

Each AV Room is equipped with a TV set, a VHS player, a DVD player and multimedia facilities with an LCD projector and sound system.

ICT Resources for Classroom Use. Each room in the health-related programs is equipped with complete ICT facilities like OHP, multimedia and LCD projector. This is because most of the procedures can better be understood by seeing illustrations on screen before they go for actual hospital exposure.

FACILITIES

■L-NU Multi-Purpose Hall. This is a 200 sq. meter room with a capacity of 200 where students and faculty can conduct their programs, seminars, meetings and other functions.
■L-NU Gymnasium. This is a 3000-capacity gymnasium which serves as venue for most of the student activities such as Orientation Program, Founder’s Day, Intramurals and other indoor affairs.
■TESDA (Assessment)/Training Center
■Swimming Pool. The institution has an Olympic junior-sized swimming pool which is open for P.E. (swimming) subject and also for private/public use with minimal fee.
■Tennis Court. Located outside the university cafeteria.
■Basketball Quadrangle (Open Court). This has courts for basketball games and provisions for conversion into volleyball courts.
■Martial Arts Club Training Center. This facility is open for P.E. subject (self-defense) and special training classes located at the 2nd Floor of FR Building.
■Learning Resource Center. The center subscribes to international journals and magazines.
■Library. The institution has 4 libraries located at the Main Campus, AsiaCareer Campus, Polyclinic Campus (for General High School and Graduate School), and Francisco Q. Duque Medical Foundation Special Science High Schools (FQDMFSSHS).
